Why a snake oil thread? Some of us have, let´s say, a more adventurous mind than others. This mind is not always controlled by common sense or what science tells you, but by the urge to explore unstressed trails, to try something new or to explore something different. The goal is simply not only the end of the trail. It is the trail that is the goal! I know many people treat this as crazy stuff. For me personally this is pure fun. Even if it ends up bad I have enjoyed the ride. This thread is for all of us that think "snake oil" or "voodoo tweaks" is pure fun. People that think that a tweak does´nt neccessarily have to work to be fun, but who have a curious mind to explore the unexplored even if it cannot be explained. This must be a civil thread only for people that actually enjoy this kind of stuff! A place to share experiances with exotic tweaks without being officially offended. This is not a thread to explain why it works, but a place to share this kind of stuff without having to explain the science behind it. I do not mind a trip down the memory lane, tips on "voodoo tweaks" or links to interesting websites in this specific subject. Maybe an explanation what "snake oil" mean here will be in order? Snake oil does´nt mean that a certain tweak does´nt work. On the contrary they could work surprisingly good IME. In the context of this thread it simply means mysterious stuff that have no scientificly measured explanations to support it or firm proof for why they actually make a difference. So enjoy! I know I will!
