  1. i have the mR 1.4 with LPS-1 and a Gen5 USB Yggy, On a Gen3 USB Yggy, the LPS-1 (with aftermarket DC cable) made a massive difference over the ifi iPower. I got the mR 1.4 still on a Gen3USB Yggy and that added a lot of extra clarity/detail/soundstage. When I got the Gen5 USB upgrade, clarity/detail/soundstage was better again. i would suggest that a mR 1.4 with a better more accurate clock aids in the eventual sound quality.
  2. Yesterday's update also disturbed the force for me. Kazoo could no longer connect to my mR. My setup. Running MinimServer, then MPD/DLNA mode on mR and Kazoo on iPad to control. V2.5 broke my previous setup from v2.3. SMB share on computer, Drive Mounter, MPD/DLNA mode an mPad to control. So now have the setup above. Reading this thread this morning, simply going into the MPD/DLNA settings on the mR and pressing 'Save' fixed my problem. Kazoo can now connect to the mR and see my library.
  3. Thanks. I tried to get kazoo to send to BubbleUPnP last night. Although, the ALAC files would add to the playlist, I couldn't actually get a playlist to play. If I was doing something wrong then Kazoo's UI isn't very good.
  4. Further testing shows that the issues appears to be with the Drive Mounter in version 2.5. I'm using a Mac running MacOS Sierra. I tried to swap to using Linn Kazoo app on my iPad with Kazoo Server running on the Mac. Linn's Konfig won't discover Kazoo Server, so am unable to configure it in any way. But it does show my itunes library in Kazoo but there appears to be a really big issue in that multi-cd albums are sorted by track number only and not cd, track. So if I were to play an album I would get all track 1's, then all track 2's etc. Switching from Kazoo Server to MinimServer, I get the same issue as steven.y a few posts above - I get the "Fail to add track to DS" error when adding any ALAC track, which is 99% of my collection. Switching back to v2.3 again. James
  5. I'm going to quote myself to bring this back up again. This is still happening. I put the 2.5 card back in last night and updated the software on the card to the latest version. The mR had been on for a couple of hours after I'd updated it but before listening to any music. The network indicator light was going mental, and my mPod app just couldn't connect to the mR. I could reboot it through the web interface. And then after the reboot the app could see the mR and play music. I'm not sure if the problem is that after a while of not playing any music, the mpd goes haywire or if there is an issue with the drive mounter looking for the drive across the network. I've gone back to 2.3 again which is a shame because the 2.5 version may sound better. James
  6. Using MPD mode on the latest 2.5 release. After the microRendu has been on a while, I'm seeing a lot of rapid flashing from the mR's network port as if there's a lot of network traffic going on. This doesn't happen on 2.3 which I've just reverted back to. Looking at the mapped hard drive that MPD uses, it is doing nothing. The mPad app I'm using on my old iPad 2 now also appears to have a sluggish interaction with the mR. This happening to anyone else? Thanks James
  7. I'm going to differ from the guys above. I have LPS-1 > DC cable with kimber cable and Oyaide DC jacks > microRendu > ifi Mercury USB > Schiit Yggy > yadda yadda I prefered MPD over Roon. I found it had more low end and airiness around the instruments. My microrendu connects to my network with a tp-link wireless bridge also.
  8. My LPS-1 is incoming from the most recent batch... excited... I'll be powering it from an ifi iPower 9V/2A. Is it OK to keep the LPS-1 on 24/7/365 powering the microRendu? Will this shorten the LPS-1's lifespan? Thanks
