jbbm
hello -- it appears there might not be dealers for either musical fidelity or audiophilleo north of the border. after researching this a bit, i'm more or less down to two candidates for a usb to s/pdif converter-reclocker that i'll want to add to my hi-fi kit: the musical fidelity v-link 192 and the audiophilleo 2. even though specs/word-of-mouth is positive for these two units, i'd like to audition them before buying. any canuck haunting these forums know of stores in the ottawa - montréal - kingston "area" that carry these two brands? cheers. Jsmith
Have you considered the Analog Research Technologies (AR-T) Legato? They are manufacture direct, but I believe have a 30 day return period. Then you can audition it with your setup in your listening room. The Legato is only 16/44. If you need something for high-rez they may have something else for you. Reach out to Pat. I can tell you he is a good guy. http://ar-t.co/ Main / Office: Home built computer -> Roon Core (Tidal & FLAC) -> Wireless -> Matrix Audio Mini-i Pro 3 -> Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Noire (On order) Portable / Travel: iPhone 12 Pro Max -> ALAC or Tidal -> iFi Hip Dac -> Meze 99 Classics or Meze Rai Solo Link to comment
jbbm
hello & Merry Christmas to all -- so, for canuck audiophiles considering one of the following usb to s/pdif converters: * musical fidelity v-link ii or v-link 192 * m2tech hiface evo * audiophilleo 2 this is what i found: * there are dealers for m-f & m2tech in the "great white north", but not for the audiophilleo. i'm listing them below. * not all dealers for m-f know about the v-link 192 (those i talked to think the v-link ii can do 192khz) * the v-link 192 is not yet available, price "up here" unknown. the dealers i have identified: musical fidelity * ottawa - the listening room (http://www.thelisteningroom.ca/) * toronto - audioexcellence (http://www.audioexcellence.ca/home/) * québec - Cora, Inc. (http://www.corahifi.com/) * edmonton - Gramophone Inc (http://www.gramophone.ca/) m2tech * montréal - filtronique (http://www.filtronique.com) * montréal - acoustic tech (http://www.acoustic-tech.com/) audiophileo * could not find any "local" dealers i hope this can be of help to others. cheers. p.s.: @Jsmith, re. the AR-T Legato: no, i have not considered this unit, as it does not do hi-def. i swapped my ead dsp-7000mk2 for a moon 300d because of hi-def music; otherwise i would have kept it.
