iMac to AudioLab 8200CD - streaming through airport or USB connection?

I wonder if you can help me make a decision on which USB cable to purchase so that I can connect an iMac running 10.6.8 to my AudioLab 8200CD. Alternatively I might simply go with streaming audio from the iMac to my airport express which is how it is currently connected.

 

My system is not yet settled in terms of whether I should stream wirelessly or use USB from the iMac to the 8200CD.

 

If you believe I should use a direct USB connection I will go for it but if that is your preferred method which USB cable should I consider?

I would suggest your best option for iMac to Audiolab 8200CD would be via USB. Using the AirPort Express may be more convenient if your iMac isn't currently close to the HiFi.

I will take your suggestion to heart and try both options but I have a feeling USB is the way to go.

 

Any suggestions on a decent USB cable?
