Use XLD to validate old rips

Recommended Posts

XLD 20110502 introduced a new feature; folders of audio files can be opened into the same interface as a disk, then you can perform functions like AccurateRip checking and filling tags/artwork from CDDB.

The AccurateRip check will be useful if you're worried about the accuracy of old rips made by iTunes (or other software without validation) but obviously don't want to waste time re-ripping unless necessary.

When you open a folder as a disk, at the bottom left of the folder view is an indicator of whether the files have been recognised as a disk in the AccurateRip database. When it says '"AccurateRip: YES" that does not mean the files have been checked; it only means that they can be checked. You still need to select "Check file with AccurateRip" in the File menu then wait for a log to be presented. See attached images.
