Having heard a good variety of devices and having the greatest respect for Meitner's gear (A-D as well as D-A), for my ears, it is the format itself that is the problem. I know many folks whose ears I trust who don't have any problems with it. But to me, the high treble is a (pardon the expression) "silent scream".
