Shanti Power Supply not powering up

Hello, 

 

I just received this brand new unit and its not powering on. I read other posts that the fuse might have to be replaced. There is no extra fuse in the package and why do I need to replace it on a brand new unit. Wasnt this QC tested?

I found the fuse and replaced it but still no luck. Device does not turn on, tried with an RPI.

Is the voltage selector on the back set correctly?

If it is, then do the red lights inside the Shanti come on?  If they don't it's definitely dead.

If they do then can you check you're using the 3 amp output to power up the Pi?

Do you have a multimeter you can check the voltage on the two output plugs with?  They should both show very close to 5 volts.

Hello,

 

- Yes the voltage selector is set correctly i.e. 115v

- No red lights inside the  unit.

- Yes the PI was connected to the right output.

Nope I do not have a multimeter unfortunately.

 

It looks like it is dead.

Then assuming the fuse in your mains cable is OK it looks like it’s dead on arrival. Did you buy it direct from Allo?

Yes, I also changed the fuse just to make sure. Purchased from Allo, received it few days ago. Not sure how to contact them as their website brings me to this site.

Ok, so no response from them. I tried calling a 416 no. that was mentioned as part of the transaction (canada) and that no does not work. My credit card co. requested to call 18773392556 registered on better business..and I got 'mcdonalds south shore' and goes straight to voicemail.

 

I went ahead and filed a dispute.
