HQ Player Embedded Debian bullseye Install

Hello,

I am new here and try to find my way around here.

Hopefully this is the correct location for this.

A few months ago i was able to install the HQPE on my HPElite Slice i5-7500T 16Gig mem PC.

The distro I use is the Debian bullseye.

I have used tis manual below what is a very good document to learn how to setup HQP on a Linux distro.

https://audiophilestyle.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=49325

After some mistakes i wanted to setup a clean install and started over again.

Some how the install of the hqplayerd_4.34.0-152_amd64.deb and the one version below fails.

root@muziek-pc:~# sudo dpkg -i hqplayerd_4.33.3-150_amd64.deb
Selecting previously unselected package hqplayerd.
(Reading database ... 41102 files and directories currently instal
Preparing to unpack hqplayerd_4.33.3-150_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking hqplayerd (4.33.3-150) ...
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of hqplayerd:
 hqplayerd depends on eject; however:
  Package eject is not installed.

A fix--broken install is showing that the eject part is not installed correctly.

root@muziek-pc:~# sudo apt-get install -f
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Correcting dependencies... Done
The following additional packages will be installed:
  eject

Also i get the message that it get stuck on line127.

Setting up hqplayerd (4.33.3-150) ...
/var/lib/dpkg/info/hqplayerd.postinst: 33: killall: not found
dpkg: error processing package hqplayerd (--configure):
installed hqplayerd package post-installation script subprocess r status 127

After the fix it is not possible to re install the package again. (Yes i know i have been using a different package below, however it was giving the same result)

root@muziek-pc:~# sudo dpkg -i hqplayerd_4.34.0-152_amd64.deb
(Reading database ... 41143 files and directories currently instal
Preparing to unpack hqplayerd_4.34.0-152_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking hqplayerd (4.34.0-152) over (4.33.3-150) ...
Setting up hqplayerd (4.34.0-152) ...
Warning: The home dir /var/lib/hqplayer/home you specified already
The system user `hqplayer' already exists. Exiting.
usermod: no changes

I gues I was using an older package before that was not having this issue.

Can you please help me out?

This looks normal and it should work. Just remember to enable the service with "systemctl enable hqplayerd" and if you don't want to reboot, start it right away with "systemctl start hqplayerd"

I'll check my package dependencies if "killall" is not found.
