Placement, crossover frequencies and filters, multiple subwoofers are variables with which you can experiment endlessly. It is also essential that you get the timing/phase between the mains and the sub(s) exactly right at the listening position. After a lot of measuring but also listening, the optimum in my setup is a crossover point of 64 Hz and a (quite steep) 4th order Linkwitz-Riley filter.
