jrobbins50
I am not yet familiar with AC4 as a transport for either DD+ or TrueHD. I see that the Dolby Reference Player in Windows will decode that. I don’t know what a Mac can do. Chris, I suspect you’ve checked. If you run the output of the Music app on Mac or the DRP in Windows, you can use HQPlayer to apply sound correction filters. I use Audiolense XO and it works very well without any Trinnov, Marantz or other MCH preamp. Superior sound at a substantially lesser price than a big processor. I will have to find that Japanese channel. Actually, can you provide a link? I can decode Auro-3D through my Marantz AV-8802A processor, but I don’t know of a software-based Auro-3D decoder. Anyone find such a thing yet? JCR Link to comment
jrobbins50
I note that SofT site says that they will provide custom formats. I wonder if they’d do Atmos on request? To be clear, no one has discovered a software-based Auro-3D player, correct? JCR Link to comment
jrobbins50
Ok, it looks like a software plugin does exist for Auro-3D. https://buy.auro-3d.com JCR The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment
jrobbins50
To be clear, DVDA is pulling the mlp or thd extensions for you? I believe that when I’ve tried DVDA to extract THD, it pulls the 5.1 FLAC surround and not the Atmos files. The Marantz says it is seeing an Atmos file? JCR The Computer Audiophile 1 Link to comment
jrobbins50
And what’s doing the decoding and the playback as you show there? JCR Link to comment
