DigiOne Signature - using a 4xAA battery pack for the Clean side

Hello,  I have a question using AA batteries to run the clean side.  

 

Even though I have the Shanti power supply I am using the second 5V 1A to power a Topping E30 DAC.   So I have got a 4x AA battery power pack (outputting 6V) to run the CLEAN side of the DigiOne. 

 

Question is:    What happens when the batteries start to go flat?  The voltage will drop won't it... will that damage the DigiOne because it's not getting enough juice? Also how can I tell when the batteries are going dead and need replacing - does the sound start to cut out or something?

You cannot damage the Digione because the voltage is low or because there is not enough power. If the batteries go flat you wont have sound coming out
