Schafheide
Maybe the female receptacle inside that problem hole in the plastic connector is damaged now? Link to comment
Schafheide
That is the greatest news! I cannot wait now to get mine!!! Link to comment
Schafheide
re "The MMM1 is so far upstream, and so I was skeptical at first." I don't look at it that way - purely from an amplification point of view, I figure that the closer to the source, the better it has to be (because the faults will be amplified) - ie spend a lot of money on the turntable and the cartridge. What say you? Link to comment
Schafheide
BTW - shouldn't all of this be in the TeraDak MMM1 kit thread? Just asking 😪 Link to comment
Schafheide
1. Until today I used these settings on my MMM1 poly-sinc-gauss-xla poly sing gauss-long LNS15 ASDM7ECv2 this produced DSD256 (48k 256) CPU temps approx 60C 2. My recently discovered settings are - As above except - AMSDM7EC 512+fs This produces DSD512 (48k 512) - no dropouts CPU temps approx 30C Comments please. Link to comment

ASDM7ECv2 @ DSD256 is the definite winner! Link to comment
Schafheide
@MikePid Thank you. We all should help one another. Hopefully, once mine has cleared the enormous Covid-related hold-ups at the various way-stations, I too will be as happy as you! Link to comment
Schafheide
Re (How many veils are there anyway??? 🤣) I think that, unfortunately for our wallets, there are an infinite number of veils. Link to comment
Schafheide
I have zero probs with 24/192 to DSD256 using ECv2 & hires-lp. musicjunkie917 1 Link to comment
Schafheide
Beware of the latest MacOS update for your M1 - 1 April 2022. Surely not April fool from Apple?? Either way, once installed, my M1 could not recognise my normal boot process for HQP. My other M1 (not upgraded) is fine - thankfully!!! Link to comment
Schafheide
Thanks. Obviously I need to look elsewhere. Link to comment

Schafheide
Happy with 4.18.0 on my MM1. Especially the new FIR2 SDM Integrator (more space around the orchestra. Is it just me, but, since the upgrade, I have to turn the volume up a couple of notches? Link to comment
Schafheide
Thanks to some Miska Magic, my Mac Mini M1 has now broken the "sound barrier"!! DSD64 (& DSD128 &DSD256) to DSD512 (without noisy i9 fans). My settings are - HQP 4.18.1, buffer Default, 48k DSD, AMSDM7 512+fs, grey Multicore DSP, FIR2, wide. But I cannot get AMSDM7EC 512+fs to work without dropouts. Also PCM96 (and up to 352.8 PCM) to DSD512 gauss-hires. And PCM44.1 to DSD512 gauss xla The SQ improvement over DSD256 is fantastic! Thank you Miska. Miska 1 Link to comment
Schafheide
I have just updated to 4.19.2 Based on your info re this update - Bug fixes and component updates. Core usage improvements in certain cases. It would seem that our Mac Mini M1 are not included? I was hoping to be able to use EC. I do appreciate that you cannot always perform miracles! Link to comment
Schafheide
These settings worked for me as well. But recently I switched to AMSDM7 512+fs for DSD512. For DSD source I use FIR2 / wide. Link to comment

Someday I might try a better LPS, but very happy with the MMM1 LPS upgrade with that. My setup has an EtherREGEN and ultraRendu (both powered by really nice LPSs with nice fuses 🤑). Hello again! In case you have not already done so, I recommend that you update ultraRendu NAA to 4.2.0 - improvements in sound stage and "power". But, in any case, it is free! Link to comment
Schafheide
My amp volume control is very close to max. I run M1 - ethernet - NAS - ethernet - ultraRendu - SingXer SU-6 - Holo May KTE - Mjolnir Carbon CC. As I see it, the only possibility is to somehow increase the volume from the M1 ? Ideas? Schafheide
For playback of PCM files to 352.8/384, I used to use Shaper/Dither LNS15. Since swapping to Shaper/Dither NS5, I notice that the 4 Mac Mini M1 Performance Cores show no activity! Which Shaper should I be using? Link to comment
Schafheide
I only just noticed. (I normally playback to DSD512. I am just trying PCM playback.) The cores only get used for DSD playback - make sense? Link to comment
Schafheide
My reason to try PCM was due to you alerting me to the 6dB loss when playing DSD. Playing DSD, with HQP set to -6dBM and EQ requiring -6.4dB, my poor amp volume control was (for some classical files) was at the max! So now, playing PCM, it is several clicks back! For me (without EQ enabled) my May KTE @ DSD512 is fab. Unfortunately my DDC is limited to 384/DSD512. Link to comment
Schafheide
Yes, this is checked. But doesn't this only apply for DSD to PCM conversion? I seem to remember Miska stating this? Link to comment
Schafheide
The amp is balanced, using XLR cables from the May. Link to comment
Schafheide
Out of curiosity, does anyone know the typical output signal level of an Intel PC vs that of our Mac Mini M1 ?? Link to comment
