beerandmusic
Does it matter what hardware is used for a DLNA server if all that server is doing is feeding an upstream switch? I know many low power systems just use raspberry pi so i wouldn't imagine power is an issue? So would it matter if i just used a dlna program on my NAS vs using a pi or a nuc etc regarding SQ if all it is doing is feeding an upstream switch? I also know that jriver sells a jriver ID on a pi for like $100. Link to comment
plissken
It's just a server running a protocol over a multicast IPv4 address of 239.255.255.250 and IPv6 of FF0X::C. X is the particular scope you are on. You can even make this routable with PIM and setup multi-cast routing. Better just to run it on the same subnet though. JRiver is my DNLA server. Link to comment
