Interesting reading. These pale in comparison but here is one I think from the 1980's New Wave era. The song is about the spread of nationalism/fascism in the USA vis a vis President Ronald Reagan. This period witnessed the weakening of labor unions both in the US and in the UK which caused some civil unrest.
