How cool is a digital poweramp (Class D and alternatives) running compared to classic Class AB ?

The 200W into 4 ohms Silicon Chip magazine SC ULD3, for example , has a quiescent output stage Bias of 70mA, so I feel that you may be overstating  Class AB amplifier current demands.

 

How a Digital Audio file sounds, or a Digital Video file looks, is governed to a large extent by the Power Supply area. All that Identical Checksums gives is the possibility of REGENERATING the file to close to that of the original file.
