Audirvana Plus 3.5

Recommended Posts

Database migration from Audirvana plus 3.2.16 to Audirvana 3.5.9  (OS X) goes well, all albums/tracks are there.

However, when in Audirvana 3.5, adding new albums to the database (manual sync) all new albums are added, but old entries in the database vanish right at the start of sync.

I have Audirvana 3.5 running on 2 Mac mini’s 2018 with different databases. On both this problem of vanishing entries exists.

For this reason version 3.5 is of no use to me as long as this problem is not solved.

I had to look in the dictonary what ' a mess' means, because English is not my language, but I can't agree with you.
I had problems with the database but at the moment it is ok. And I'm a heavy user with more than 12000 albums:-)
There are still a few bugs, but in general the program works good now.

I do nothing with the BUILT IN OUTPUT because I only use my Apple Airport.

Fine for you:-). I have 2 databases, about 10.000 and 55.000 albums. When using Audirvana 3.5 and adding new albums using manual sync, the number of albums drops right at the start of the sync. This makes the database unreliable, so I stopped using version 3.5 as I've spent too much time now on this alpha product.

If you leave it alone, what shows at the end? Or did you stop the sync shortly after it began? If so, hard to draw conclusions.

I left it alone in both cases.

Here is the complete story:

Both databases were from audirvana plus 3.2.16 and optimised before migrating them into Audirvana 3.5

Migration took a long time. I could speed it up by giving Audirvana max. priority (sudo renice -20 PID).

After migration the number of albums etc. were the same in Audirvana 3.2 and 3.5

When adding new albums (manual sync) all albums were added correctly but, as I said, the number of albums in the database dropped right at the start of syncing.

This was the result:

Database 1: 10.738 albums (3.2.16) versus 10.726 (3.5.7)

Database 2: 56.195 albums (3.2.16) versus 54.999 (3.5.7)

I repeated the whole migration process with version 3.5.9 and got the same result.

I have the same database in JRiver. The data are the same in JRiver and Audirvana plus 3.2.16

@stephano

Thanks for trying to help me!

All my albums have 1 album artist, even when there is only 1 artist. So there should be no difference between 3.2.16 and 3.5

The sudden drop in number of albums at the start of sync must have another cause.

Just released 3.5.11 with:

  • Access to HIGHRESAUDIO VirtualVault
  • Add play all playlist when viewing it as albums
  • Fix offline folder removal from synched list
  • Workaround for setup of legacy Audio Units
  • Fix iTunes integrated mode shuffle playback
  • UI: headers size optimization

Enjoy your music!

Damien

Thanks Damien for fixing several things!

My biggest problem remains. I still see a sudden drop in the number of albums at the start of a manual sync, even after adding just 1 album.

Audirvana asks very often for the registration key. This is annoying.

You may have a damaged preferences file. Maybe because versions 3.2 and 3.5 have been launched simultaneously?
Can you then delete your preferences by entering in Terminal application the following two commands:

defaults delete com.audirvana.Audirvana-Plus
defaults delete com.audirvana.Audirvana

Please note you'll be asked for your license key when you'll relaunch Audirvana for the first time after this.

Thanks Damien. I never ran 3.2 and 3.5 simultaneously.
