sig8
Is there any way to download a fresh image which has 2.1, and menu 207, or we have to go the update route. It is easier to just have an image which is up-to-date. Link to comment

Version 2.1 has menu 206, but it should take less than 1 minute to have it updated to 207 following the steps below: From main menu: Select 4 INSTALL/UPDATE menu Once in "INSTALL/UPDATE" menu Select 6 Update audiolinux menu A new screen will prompt you to enter password for menu update Enter password sent from Audiolinux email A new screen will show "Audiolinux menu is now version 207" Exit menu by selecting "Cancel" Re-enter menu by enter "menu" The new menu should say 207 Thank you. And that will make it work with 4gb in RAM mode? I think that is the whole purpose of this exercise. Link to comment
sig8
I have installed Audiolinux version 2.6.0 on NAA, and Audiolinux lxqt 4.6.0 on server and it sounding the best so far, but somehow Piero need to make it fit on a 4 gb and 8gb RAM somehow like older versions. Link to comment
sig8
I have been using AL for couple of years now. I was using RAMROOT, but at this point it does not fit on 8gb RAM, and Miska from HQP suggest it is not best to use HQP in RAM mode. So my question is if AL can be installed on an internal Optane drive. Link to comment

Headless will also fit into a 16 or 32GB Optane NVME drive configured as an SSD. I recommend the larger of the two as the extra space can be useful for other things like the Roon DB. I haven't booted AL with the GUI for many years and can't speak to that. I hope this helps. Larry Thanks Larry, sorry for not being clear, I have 8gb on server, and 4gb on headless at this point. I can add RAM to both or install on Optane. How you install on Optane? Thanks. Link to comment
sig8
I have always used JRIver as my control for HQPe running on AL. I have just started to upsample 44.1 files to 1411.2 using something called PGGB, see this AS thread: When I play these files residing on an internal NVMe drive, I get lot of buffering and system crashes (JRiver freezes), and these files sometimes play with buffering, sometimes they just freeze. When I play the same files in AL using HQP desktop, they play fine. Let me know if you have any idea how to fix it? Seems some kind of settings thing between AL/JRiver/HQPe. Thanks. Link to comment
sig8
I use JRiver for library management and control, but HQPe is the UPnP player. I have always use like this but with these Hi Res files I am getting lot of buffering. Link to comment
