Help on black iTunes Cover Flow

I have been having this problem for a long time, but cannot seem to find a solution on the web. Just wondering if someone else has had this problem before and resolution if any.

Environment is Mac OSX Snow Leopard on a Mac mini

Symptom is empty/black cover flow on my iTunes. Covers for albums are present and display fine on grid view.

It seems to be intermittent, Covers sometimes reappears after closing and restarting iTunes.

Tried deleting and rescan library with no avail.

Seems to be getting worse these past weeks, no more Cover FLow for weeks.

Any help appreciated.

Are you viewing the MacMini direct or via ScreenSharing/VNC?

If the latter, then if the MacMini doesn't detect a monitor at bootup I've found Coverflow doesn't work.

...in my opinion / experience...

While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing.

And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism.

keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out.

Good one Eloise. Actually I am using remote access and the mini is directly connected to a HDMI switcher, which will typically not be active on boot up.

I will rush home after work tonight and check if this is the culprit and report back. But your diagnosis seems very logical!

This is brilliant. Now I have to go parts shopping.

One more Q for you gurus running screen sharing. I am accessing the mini via screen sharing from a Macbook Pro. And the screen size is simply too small if scaled and too much scrolling if scaling is turned off. So there is no real optimal size for controlling.

Is there a way I could somehow make the remote screen full screen?

What do you guys do to make the screen readable? I am used to reading books from tiny iPhone/PDA screens but this is way too small to be usable.

Any ideas?

I dont know if full screen is possible. I think you cannot scale the size of the remote window.

What I did, is change the monitor size in preferences. As soon as you tricked the mini to believe there is a monitor attached, you can change the size. THis affects the screensize of the remote window. I think I use 1400 * 1050 (not at home right now), which gives me a large enough window.
