DaiNut
Wondering why these aren't on the C.A.S.H. I've been researching drives to get in my Onnto enclosures, and this drive seemed to be just as reliable as the Seagate and MUCH quieter and power efficient. Check out the review here: http://www.storagereview.com/1000.sr The 1.5T version is $99 on Amazon. I'm planning on getting two, with two single drive enclosures from Onnto, one serving as my media library via eSATA and the other as my backup. Link to comment
funkle
I was just looking at those. It seems based on the Amazon reviews that the Black might be a little better drive, but they are a bit more, $175 for 2TB, $90 for 1TB. DaiNut
The point of green drives isn't higher performance, it's low sound, low temperatures. Some of them can reportedly be so quiet you're not even sure they are on! Anywho, I went w/ the Samsung Ecogreen 1.5T. Link to comment
ItemAudio
I've been recommending them for a long time: they're a no-brainer for onboard HD systems. We've also not had one fail yet, which is nice. Link to comment
firedog
I have 2 sitting in a fanless music server about 0.5 meter from my head. Can't hear them. Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup. Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare. All absolute statements about audio are false Link to comment
