I second this recommendation as it is designed for every format including LPs and they don't need to be music files on your computer. Items can be added just by inputting the UPC code on the disc.

 

90% of my music is not on my computer they are on SACDs and Blu-ray discs. Like Dan I also use the Music Collector database software from collectorz.com as it stores important (to me) information about each album, such as where I purchased, date of purchase, price paid, format, notes, both front and back covers, etc. And I can create my own custom fields.
