I do not want cables adding anything to the sound. There are already too many variables.

If said cables are "altering" sound, then they are effectively adding or subtracting  something. That said, yes I desire the most neutral interfaces as possible.

Maybe GUTB should start a "USB Sucks" thread. I hope to be USB free within a year or so. Till then I shall suffer on. Although when I spin those small, shiny polycarbonate discs, I feel joy.
