georgios
Hello everyone, Just happened to be here several months ago, and after reading so many threads, I've bought aes16 and planned to try macbook pro as another kind of source. But I'm a little confused about playback software. Under windows platform, I use foobar with ASIO, it's flawless to play all sample rates, but how could I do it under MAC OS? Cuz there is no ASIO thing there, and any playback software also support cue file? Regards Georgios Link to comment
Mr.C
OSX doesn't need ASIO or equivalent because it doesn't have the dreaded kmixer to screw up the bits. If the software is bitperfect (ie. uncheck the dsp settings within the software) then the operating system will pass it through to the output unharmed. Link to comment
georgios
Thank you, Mr.C. Just wondering if the hardware of MacBook Pro supports 24/192 or not? Yesterday I tested MacBook Pro 13(MB990) in the apple shop, found there was no options for choosing optical output, anybody knows why? Link to comment
