Installation of AO 3.0 Beta 31 was running easily and smoothly.
The sound is always beautiful.

Driver is installed in core, but to listen to music, I have to boot each time with the "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" option: not so  fun.

Any ideas?

PS:

Already done:

    ⁃    bcdedit /set LOADOPTIONS DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    ⁃    bcdedit /set TESTSIGNING ON
    ⁃    bcdedit /set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS ON

FYI, the issue below happened because a file named sc.bat was present under c:\

Under Windows Server 2019 Standard No GUI evaluation:
Connection to Internet: UP
Via cmd: run Setup.exe AO 3.0 Beta:
C to continue: ->OK
A to accept and continue: ->A pressed
The cmd Window    disappears
Under TaskManager: AudiophileOptimizer Setup 3.00 (32 bit)    disappears
Nothing else ..
.

Hmmm, that's done

I tried Wasapi with jplayfemto.
Obviously I really liked the first time I tried it.
There's bit more analog sound.
Maybe it was psychological, but it was like a more layered soundstage

I'm set to 45,  in 1000 hz not  working
Beautiful sound quality

Dac & amp ifi micro idsd black label

Sennheiser HD 800

Windows Server 2019 Standard Eval Core Mode

OK: AO3beta31: Windows 2019 Essentials+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+HQPLAYER(using wasapi not ASIO)+TADAC8DSD: music is playing well

KOAO3beta31: Windows 2019 Core(boot via F8: Disable Driver Signature enforcement)+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+HQPLAYER(using wasapi not ASIO)+TADAC8DSD: the system never connect to the DAC->no music nor any sound

Please thanks to briefly explain the "difference/complimentarity" between "AO/tools/ao -wasapi" and "audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI".

PS:

As already mentioned previously, under "Windows 2019 Core (without boot via F8: Disable Driver Signature enforcement) / devmgmt", the T+A DAC 8 DSD driver produce a code "052. I can now add that in this case No "Software devices" nor "Audio inputs and outputs" Audio Endpoint are shown under the devmgmt tree.
It seems to me (please thanks to confirm) that the availability of "Audio Endpoint" in the system is related to "AO/tools/ao -wasapi" but I'm not sure about that. So I don't know if I can talk about a glich with wasapi ...

Inside AO there is an MMCSS/WASAPI optimization. This does not „enable“ WASAPI.

AO -wasapi does enable wasapi, and also bringt back Audio Endpoints etc.

OK, thank you for the answer. In fact I'm always using ASIO.

But, to summarise, it should be noted that:

  • AO3beta31+Windows 2019 CORE (boot via F8 WITH Disable Driver Signature enforcement)+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+TADAC8DSD:
    • If HQPLAYER use WASAPI: the system never connect to the DAC->😩no music nor any sound
    • If HQPLAYER use ASIO: Everything is ok->music is beautifully produced

  • AO3beta31+Windows 2019 ESSENTIALS (boot normal)+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+TADAC8DSD:
    • If HQPLAYER use WASAPI: Everything is ok->music is beautifully produced
    • If HQPLAYER use ASIO: Everything is ok->music is beautifully produced

  • and as already known: AO3beta31+Windows 2019 CORE (boot normal)+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+TADAC8DSD:
    • DEAD WAY:
      • DAC Driver code 052
      • No "Software devices" nor "Audio inputs and outputs": Audio Endpoint

Did you exactly follow this guide for WASAPI? (Just „ao -wasapi“ is not enough)

AO3beta31+Windows 2019 CORE (boot via F8 WITH Disable Driver Signature enforcement)+guide for WASAPI+AO/tools/ao -wasapi+audiophile_core: Y to WASAPI+TADAC8DSD:
If HQPLAYER use WASAPI: Now Everything is ok->music is beautifully produced

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

🎉 B32 is an enchantment. Everything is working so good. Sound is beautiful as well.

Details: Fresh install (without any F8 at all 😀😀😀)

  • Windows Server 2019 Standard Core
  • firadisk (like a charm)
  • AO 3 B32
  • audiophile_core.exe
    • Y "Install Kernel-Streaming and MediaPlayer support"
    • Y ”Install Roon-Support"
    • ...
  • T+A DAC 8 DSD driver (Amanero like a charm 😀)
  • Wasapi
  • FOD
  • Install-WindowsFeature -Name Qwave -IncludeAllSubFeature
  • HQPlayer
  • Fidelizer

Thank you very much Phil!

PS:

On my side, before b32, I spended so much frustating time on the "F8 disable driver signature enforcement" issue that I will really appreciate if you share (without betraying any secrets) some information about the magic you used to eliminate this annoyance.

Hi,
NO PROBLEM, everything OK: with UPDATE B32 on Windows Server 2019 Essentials / T+A DAC 8 DSD / HQPlayer / Fidelizer:

  • AO 3 B32 on B31
  • audiophile_core.exe
    • Y "Install Kernel-Streaming and MediaPlayer support"
    • N ”Install Roon-Support"
    • ...

Thank you Phil!

FYI: B32: Windows server 2019 core: New version of HQPlayer 3.25.3:

  • Not sure if it's really necessary, but I do it:
    • wmic
    • product get name
    • product where name=”name of program ...HQPlayer...” call uninstall
  • install HQPlayer 3.25.3
  • The T+A DAC 8 DSD was no more present as Device under HQPlayer settings
  • Reinstall DAC "Driver"
  • The T+A DAC 8 DSD was no more present as Device under HQPlayer settings
  • devmgmt: bunch of clicks "as usual before b32": no luck
  • Reboot
  • T+A DAC 8 DSD present as Device under HQPlayer settings
  • Run music from iMac Roon: Under roon "time was running very fast: accelerated read..."
  • HQPlayer: no sound
  • Reboot
  • T+A DAC 8 DSD present as Device under HQPlayer settings
  • oh yeah: Sound is now excellent again

So agter all the question is, who is using AO 3.00 Beta and has issues with using IE?

  • From scratch: Install Windows Server 2019 Standard Core:
    • No AO at all
    • Install DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:"ServerCore.AppCompatibility~~~~0.0.1.0" /Source:drive_letter_of_mounted_ISO: /LimitAccess
    • IE not working
  • Using an already "well running" Windows Server 2019 Standard Core with full AO B32 and all the needed stuff:
    • IE not working
  • Using an already "well running" Windows Server 2019 ESSENTIALS Evaluation with full AO B32 and all the needed stuff:
    • IE not working
    • To be noted and don't know if it is relevant: Win HTTP Web Proxy Auto-Discovery Service "could not start  Error 1053

That's right.

On my site, in the context of the OS listed, IE didn't work: with or without AO.

But: From scratch: Install Windows Server 2019 Standard Core:

  • No AO at all
  • Install DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:"ServerCore.AppCompatibility~~~~0.0.1.0" /Source:drive_letter_of_mounted_ISO: /LimitAccess
  • IE not working
  • Dism /online /add-package:drive_letter_of_mounted_iso:"Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab"
  • IE is working 😊

This is exactly the right question. Personaly i don‘t, i have sent this browser to hell years ago.

microsoft itself recently published a blog in which they warn about the usage of IE and tell you to either use chrome or firefox.

i don‘t care at IE at all, but i want to know if that issue with it is caused through AO or not. As it seems its not.

  • With ao + With the complementary: Dism /online /add-package:drive_letter_of_mounted_iso:"Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~.cab"
  • IE do not work

PS:

And yes, I don't use IE, I'm just betatesting :)

To summarize, on windows server 2019 core:

  • with complementary "...Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package..." and without AO: IE OK
  • with complementary "...Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Optional-Package..." and With AO: IE KO
