If you like the McIntosh, that's fine. Its a good brand to buy for long term use. However, you should not have to buy speakers every year. Match you system properly the first time and be done with it.

This is a recipe for disaster. Speakers will probably be the mostly costly component in your rig. If you buy new and sell a year later, you'll likely get ~60% of MSRP. If you repeat this routine annually, you will lose a ton of money for no good reason. If you buy all of the speakers used this is far less painful. If you are motivated by living where you can't audition much gear and think of it as "year long in-home audition" that's not so bad.

Tech on speakers and amps is not changing very rapidly, if you buy smart you should be set for many years. Digital sources...well that's another matter :-)

Digital Source: Synology DS415+ NAS  and Small Green Computer SonicTransporter i5 Running Roon Core > Blue Jean Cable Cat6a >TP optical converter > Sonore OpticalRendu with Sonore LPS> Curious USB > Denafrips Pontus DAC

Analog Source: Dynavector XX2 mk2> Audiomods Series 5 silver arm > Sota Nova Series VI turntable w/Condor & Roadrunner motor controller/tachometer > Nagra BPS battery powered phono stage>

Both: BAT VK51SE preamp> Krell FPB300 power amp > Sound Lab A3 ESLs > > Custom room treatment > 50 yr. old ears(left-handed)
