as was released at the 2016 CES show....if this is old news, sorry.

enjoy the review and vimeo link by John Darko:

CES 2016: AudioQuest mobilise DragonFly Black, Red USB DACs | DAR__KO

looks excting:

all 3 devices (one includes a blue tooth 'beetle') will be firmware upgradeable, and work with all ios and android devices.

even a new Turbo Red coming out to drive more demanding headphones.

the black one, replacing the current 1.2v model, and supposedly better, will be cheaper too: only US$100

the turbo red only $200.

I think if the reviews are good they'll sell like hotcakes, esp the turbo red.

I wonder if Audioquest is testing the market esp with the Red $200 model:

they already see how people are willing to spend $$$ on portable audio like the chord mojo and the Ifi Micro (sure not truly portable but. you know what i mean)...yet many people stay away from portable audio due to the bulk and sandwiching together a few devices plus the costs....and $100-200 for a good device to ramp up the SQ isn't cringe worthy...and is so very lightweight to carry around.

it's success might fill a greatly needed niche, and might prove worthy of even better, smaller, lighter truly portable devices (as in walking around portable).

with more smartphones coming on line now with good sound ie HTC, the soon to be released Samsung S7, LG G5 etc

it's an interesting time for portable audio.
