Audio_ELF
I'm surprised given the popularity of the existing Dragonfly there has been no mention of this. Audioquest are replacing the Dragonfly with two new models, both of which are compatible with mobile phones including Apple using CCK USB kit. First up the DragonFly Black at $99 (less than the current model) utilises the 32-bit ESS 9010 DAC and incorporates an analogue volume very similar to the existing DragonFly. The new DragonFly Red at $199 uses an upgraded ESS 9016 DAC and features a digital 64bit volume in place of the analogue system. Also announced is the AudioQuest Beetle; a $199 "desktop" model adding TOSLink input along side the USB inputs. All DACs are said to be on sale next month. More details... Audioquest's new DragonFly USB DACs work with phones and tablets | What Hi-Fi? Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
