upgraded from picopsu to HDPlex 250w HiFi ATX psu...my impressions

I just received and installed the HDPlex 250w HiFi psu to replace my current 160w picopsu. First of all, I want to say that the support Larry provides is incredible. I will be buying more of his products in the future without hesitation.

Install was easy with my only minor complaint being the orientation of the wires exiting the SATA power cable. They exit downward instead of straight out the back of the connector or upwards. Since my SSD was screwed directly to the case I had to use some stand offs to create enough space for the wires to bend. Again very minor.

in my system, I use a Keces DC-116 19v 6a linear power supply for both my audio and control pc's. Using the HDPlex 250w HiFi psu I notice 2 major improvements; dynamics and bass. With the HDPlex music is more crisp and direct. The best comparison in my experience is like going from a tube preamp to a solid state one. The picopsu sounds more mellow to me with less edge. The other difference I noticed was the bass. Here is where there HDPlex really improved things in my system. I use relatively small monitors without a sub so bass is something I just don't have a lot of. With the HDPlex I am hearing much lower bass. I didn't realize my speakers could go so low! The improvement in bass alone made this a worthwhile upgrade.

Overall I am very pleased.

Let it "burn-in" for a while and will get even better. Mine did.

Yes, thats what I am doing. How long before you felt the HDPlex settled into its sound?
