firedog
Can anyone tell me if/how the Orbiter with SOTm scard powered by top notch LPSU paired with a highly capable processor can be beat by any 1 box like the Pipeline with all the bells and whistles, w2012, AO, etc.? TIA I've got a Pipline and a SOtM Mini Server. Don't use AO. via Regen USB: Doesn't sound as good as using the SOtM Mini Server fed over the Network by the Pipeline (Pipeline functioning as NAS n this case), IF the Mini Server has a quality LPS, and is also feeding the Regen USB on the DAC. I'm guessing if you have a good LPS for the Orbiter, it will outperform the SQ of the Pipeline, or pretty much any server that isn't something very high end like an Aurender or an Antipodes. Main listening (small home office): Main setup: Surge protectors +>Isol-8 Mini sub Axis Power Strip/Protection>QuietPC Low Noise Server>Roon (Audiolense DRC)>Stack Audio Link II>Kii Control>Kii Three BXT (on their own electric circuit) >GIK Room Treatments. Secondary Path: Server with Audiolense RC>RPi4 or analog>Cayin iDAC6 MKII (tube mode) (XLR)>Kii Three BXT Bedroom: SBTouch to Cambridge Soundworks Desktop Setup. Living Room/Kitchen: Ropieee (RPi3b+ with touchscreen) + Schiit Modi3E to a pair of Morel Hogtalare. All absolute statements about audio are false Link to comment
