Likely very basic NAS question....

Recommended Posts

I run WS2012 (with AO) on a bootcamped Mac Mini (2012, 160g ss hard drive, 16g ram), using Jriver as my library software, with my music files residing on 2 external FW drives.

I'm fast running out of room, and am about ready to pull the trigger on a My Cloud EX2 or EX4, with the thought being that I'll move all my music files to the My Cloud (I've considered the other NAS options, but have decided to likely go with the My Cloud EX2--no fan).

Once I get the My Cloud started up and the music files transferred to it, I assume that I should map it as a drive on my bootcamped partition. Then do I just point/import the files into my JRiver library in the same manner as I do with my current external FW drives?

I'm also hoping that I can back up my JRiver library, then use its search and replace functions to locate the files on the new My Cloud, so that I don't have to recreate playlists, etc.

Any thoughts/comments/corrections will be most welcome!

Thanks,

Randy
