I have my disc located in a Thermalake hot swap usb connected device. Worked once doesn't work now. Any suggestions? I even tried swapping some files from this disc to my music folder. Theobetley Posted February 8, 2016 Share Posted February 8, 2016 Using windows10. I tried tree and I get a dialogue asking for a folder which doesn't make sense. I can drag/drop whole wav files into Hqplayer but not the cue file. Link to comment

The fact that cue files are not supported makes sense now. Thanks. But now I can drag drop the contents of a disc onto Hqplayer but it wont play. Link to comment

I went to Signalyst site and tried downloading the latest version which was easy but it stopped during installation and I had to abort. What did I do wrong? Closed Hqplayer down and tried again. Wanted to abort because I could not install the pdf file so I said ignore. Did I do it right? Link to comment

However I recently had an issue on my Windows 10 pc. I lost my Start button so I had to create a new user account which solved the issue but I am wondering if that will impede my updating of HQP. Will that look like a different computer to your website which then might prevent me from updating? Link to comment

So I did the following: 1)Uninstalled 3.12 2)Went to Signalyst site downloaded 3.13 something (I downloaded the 64 bit version, is that correct for Windows 10...don't remember) -- tried to open HQP but all I get is the Uninstall link -- figured I need to agree to License 3)Don't see where I agree to Terms Conditions. Where do I do that? Ok I d/l ed the 32 bit version now all is well. Link to comment

(Above the graph when CPU is selected on the left). But there are number of possibilities, like some problem with 64-bit OpenGL driver or something else. Intel® Core TM i5 6400 Cpu @ 2.71 ghz You should also know that I used a prior to 3.13 version loaded as 32 bit which I then uninstalled to try 3.13 64 bit. But it did not work as explained above. So I uninstalled it then downloaded the 32 bit which works fine. But if 64 bit should work I would like to try 3.14 64 bit. Link to comment

I updated my Windows 10 to the Anniversary version. Sounds very different...much tighter bass and very open. So I may try the 64 bit version of hqplayer again but a question 1st. So if I try and don't like is it easy to revert back to the 32bit version (if I uninstall then re install of course)? Link to comment
Theobetley Posted October 9, 2016 Share Posted October 9, 2016 I needed to bump up the CPU requirement to SSE4.2 in 3.14 to avoid dramatic increase in CPU load for DSD upsampling. However, the 32-bit binary is built to require only SSE2, but as a side effect it is relatively slower in the same use cases because it cannot utilize some of the CPU features. Btw I downloaded Windows 10 anniversary version and got a nice sq pop. I highly recommend it for those that haven't. Once I did that I downloaded hqp version 3.14 64 bit version and sq got even better. Link to comment

So I d/ed 3.15 and still got same response on hirez stuff. Puzzled? Running 16/44 no problem. Update 1: when I change from raw dsd to upsample to 5.644M no problem. Only running raw dsd is a problem. 24/176 seems to be ok with no upsampling. Update 2: I ran 2 x dsf rate for 15 minutes before HQP stopped. So problem seems to be in DSF. Link to comment

I.e., when I run 24/176 files back to back all is ok. But when I go from 24/176 to 16/44 for example HQPlayer stops. Link to comment
