dallasjustice
Does it get any worse than this? His new album "acoustic sorcery" seemed promising when I heard a song on the radio. This is the worst recording I've ever heard. Beal's new album comes with a disclaimer that he enjoys his music poorly recorded. It is sad because Willis seems to actually have some talent. Is Lo-fi cool now? I don't mind lo-fi recordings as long as the artist at least tries to do a good job with it; eg. elliott smith's early stuff. In this case, it's clear the Willis likes crappy recordings. I can't help but think of Ted Hawkins listening to Willis. I saw Hawkins at the Cactus Cafe in Austin in 1993. I guess its the homeless guy turns recording star thing. At least Hawkins had enough respect for his music to submit to the process in the recording studio. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX Link to comment
mwheelerk
This looked interesting enough so I gave it a whirl on a listening station at the local record store. The result was simply underwhelming, boring, poorly done. "A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open." Frank Zappa Link to comment
