Hi all, happy holiday!

 

Here is a chart I made that attempts to explain how digital formats work. Please feel free to let me know if I was wrong somewhere, especially with the the DSD bitrate, which I am not so certain about...

Now the heading for bitrate states bits per second, so for kilo- it should have / 1000 on it.

 

All the other rates are however in kilobits already, except DSD which is in bits per second. Correct value for bit rate would be 5644.8. Also for the first column, since it's in kilo-Hertz DSD should say 2822.4/1.

 

And for DSD128 values would be naturally 5644.8 and 11289.6.

Of course I mixed up mhz and khz...the chart was duly updated and thanks to you I now 'get it'.
