two greats died this week levon and pete-someone else already wrote a sentiment to levon this is for a great dj
i grew into young adulthood listening to wnew(NYC) and grew into late middleage listening to pete yet again on wfuv(fordham univ npr station on ithe internet)on saturday afternoons on "mixed bag" what a joy the themes the music selections and the interviews
he was just a joy to hear and will be very missed
he now joins allison steele(the nightbird-"come,fly with me" and scott muni)
any advantage to using an external dac ie cambridgeaudio dacmagic plus or halide dac hd between my pc and avr when listening to streaming music fro these sources-i am particularly interested in MOG as their bitrate 320kbps is the best of the three-will the sound reproduction be improved? thanks bobbmd [email protected] or [email protected]
why does one need to buy this item if one uses an hp xp media center pc harddrive as storage for cd's ripped to flac by media monkey then transferred to/via "digital out" to "coaxial digital in" on a yahmaha rx-v2500 avr that has 192-kHz/24-bit burr brown dacs? isnt this redundancy and over kill? the music isnt being played by the pc's sound card it bypasses the sound card and goes to avr correct? is the sound going tobe $1000+ better? please clarify this for me am i missing something? thanks bo
how does one "load" 600+ into this system? i ripped these 600+ cds onto my pc harddrive 4+years ago using windows media center and player(windows media lossless codex) and onto mediamonkey(in flac) both my pc and my maxtor one touch external backup hard drive failed!! i have no desire or patience to do do that again,EVER! so, if i purchase this sooloos system-media core 200 who do i get to rip and load the cds on the harddrive and how much does that cost? thanks bobbmd/[email protected]
