Garf
In a nutshell, I am looking for an alternative to the wall wart I have supplying my Alix headless PC running Voyage MPD. I do not want to spend a fortune, and the Keces power supply caught my eye. http://www.acoustic-fun.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=73 Also I saw the PS Audio Duet for conditioning AC power. So my question is, would it be a waste to use a wall wart on the Duet? Would that benefit the sound in any way? Or is the DC regulated power supply the way to go? 1audio
Its hard to beat a good linear wall wart for powering something like an Alix. The power requirements are less than 2A if you have a hard disk running off of a USB port and more like 1/2A for the board itself. If the wall wart is light forget it. If its heavy it will be good. Radio Shack has had good 12V 1A linear supply wall warts in the past. The 12V is regulated down on the board and nothing on the board uses the 12V so ultrapure may not be quite so ultrapure at the load.
