Time capsule to dac

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have read several articles about streaming digital data to a dac. But I really don't know what to do.

I have the following issue; I recently bought a great audio system with a nice dac

But what now? My computer is not in my living room, and I don't what to connect my iPhone permanently for playing music.

So what is the best device to connect to the dac? The optical input on my DAC is already taken I have the following options; an apple tv? (but as far as I know the digital data output is limited) An airport expres?(but the USB adapter only transfers printer data, optical out?) A time capsule (can you use the USB, or is there the same problem as the airport?). At last the most expensive option: a Mac mini.

In all the options I can use my iPad/iPhone to control the music wirelessly. If there is an other/ better solution please feel free to tell me!

I hope I did not miss the thread where this is explained as this would be a double post

Thanks in advance.

Superswiegie a great audiophile.
