dbossa
Hello everyone, I currently have an HTPC running an Auzentech X-Meridian sound card (LM4562 OPAMPS and several mods). I use the analog outs of the card into a Pioneer VSX74TXvi receiver (analog passthrough), going out to Klipsch Reference speakers in a 5.1 configuration. I listen to 50% movies and 50% music. I'd be interesting in upgrading since my audio card has recently started to give me problems (channels reversing out of the blue). I'd like to have some suggestions that would allow me to keep my 5.1 setup. Should I go with an RME internal card (if so, which one?), or would I be better suited with an external DAC? I'd be willing to spend roughly $500. I may be swayed to convert the whole thing into a 2 channel setup if my options become too limited. You can also feel free to chime in with options should a two channel DAC at that budget be miles ahead of what I'm running now. Any suggestions? Link to comment
