Allo Boss2 Oled on Volumio 3

Recommended Posts

Hi

I recently bought a Boss2 Player from Allo, on which i run Volumio 3. (3.233 to be specific)

I hoped that there would be a plugin for the OLED, but unfortunately there is not. But in the Volumio forum some people say that they got it to work with help from Allo support.

Is that documentation available somewhere? I found a thread here on the forum but it seems to be for volumio 2.

Any help would be appreciated.

In volumio ,we need to install OLED manually through ssh

Please follow below steps to install OLED

Login : volumio

Password : volumio

sudo su

password : volumio

cd /opt/
wget http://3.230.113.73:9011/Allocom/Boss2/boss2_oled.tar.gz
tar -xzvf boss2_oled.tar.gz
cd boss2_oled
./install_boss2_oled.sh

And reboot (Restart) the player.

Please follow below document link for volumio ssh access

Note : Dont change the host name before installing the OLED.

Thank you, that worked.

However, it only displays the current volume and sample rate, as well as giving me access to the system menu.

Is there no way to display the currently playing song?

It will display that much only.

Playing song info will get only on GUI

And with MPD_OLED?

I tried to install it, balbuze on the volumio forum has a modified version that is supposed to work with volumio 3, and while I could install the plugin, it fails to start the MPD Oled process.

PS: It would be really nice if you could make a plugin for this.
