Brutefir direct output to ALSA USB DAC?

Hi,

 

I am using a Halide Bridge USB -> S/PDIF converter. I've been able to get the latest Music Player Daemon to output directly to the alsa device without format conversion and it sounds better than using the auto bit depth format conversion. The Halide bridge expects S24_3LE under ALSA.

 

I can get MPD, Brutefir, and Jackd to all work together but there is bit depth format conversion going on. I am trying to get Brutefir to output directly to the ALSA device but it appears that Brutefir does not support the S24_3LE format. Has anyone been able to get Brutefir to output directly to an ALSA USB device that only supports S24_3LE?
