Usb-spdif converter for ARC Dac7

I was wondering if anybody has or has had any experience with a ARC Dac 7 and any of the long list of usb-spdif converters. I am currently using my Dac 7 with a Wadia 170i and a cardas neutral digital cable (rca) and very much enjoy the sound but find the usb input connected to my macbook pro with a cardas clear usb is not up to the same standard. The sound seems muted and I would like to get it up to the same level or better as my Wadia 170i. All music on my ipod and macbook pro is redbook aiff. My preamp and amp are ARC as well so a converter that matches well with the ARC sound would be a huge help. I have briefly looked at the Art Legato, EA Offramp, Wavelink, Diverter or Halide Bridge. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
