I don't think 96k, 24 bit technology was invented then. Could this cause a problem? If so, can it be fixed by configuration? Can I set digione to a lower bitrate? fwiw, on a different PI, if I just say use "ouput PI:hdmi" and then split off the sp/dif in a little box, the same flac file (its stored on a NAS) plays perfectly. What is your NAS's make & model? If you are using a (UPnP/DLNA) media server on the NAS to supply Volumio with the FLAC files over the network, it might have a setting to transcode the hi-res files to 16-bit/44.1kHz (CD-res). Alternatively, you may be able to install the BubbleUPnP Server helper application on the NAS to do similar. Cebolla
Wow, that was a bit drastic! Presumably you didn't have that many hi-res files to convert. A UPnP/DLNA media server's transcoder would not touch the original stored hi-res file tracks in any way, BTW, as the resampling is done one the fly on the network audio stream.
