Panelhead
I have been upsampling 44.1/16 AIFF files to 88.2/24 with Pure Music for a while. Quite once when it seemed a little unnatural, then went back. Last six months most listening has been with the 2x Upsampling. Yesterday, I heard some ditortion on a cymbols track. Thought it was cabling or software related. Today, playing "My Foolish Heart" off Waltz for Debby the distortion was very evident. Tried swapping Ergo's to see if some of the power supply work was the culprit. The other unit showed it just as much. Turned the upsampling off and the distortion went away. Turnd it back on and it came right back. I can on not hear it when there is full range music playing. The brush work spotlights it the best. Has anyone else seen this effect? It may be may dacs, need to rig up another FW dac to see if it is an Ergo artifact or software upsampling issue. George 2012 Mac Mini, i5 - 2.5 GHz, 16 GB RAM.
