Enabling bit perfect audio for video streaming on Windows

Hi folks,

 

I recently purchased my first dac (wyred 4 sound), and I'd like to ensure I have the best possible sound while listening watching media through Slingbox software (product that allows you to stream your TV to a PC).

 

Within slingbox settings all I can do to tweak audio is increase audio rate, but there must be some other steps I should take for general apps on Windows? I'm using Windows 7, 32 bit if that helps.

 

As a side note i was successful in improving my sound in JRiver but I assume this only applies when I'm using that app.
