seeteeyou
FYI - I posted this a month ago and maybe we could make something even simpler on our own? https://szxlydz.taobao.com https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=553920538613 https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/30376-a-novel-way-to-massively-improve-the-sq-of-computer-audio-streaming/?page=304&tab=comments#comment-807018 Link to comment
seeteeyou
Just an FYI - for some reasons replacing the original (i.e. CAT 8) Supra RJ45 plugs with Telegärtner MFP8 (i.e. CAT 6A) turned out to sound better for actual Ethernet use http://www.hiendy.com/hififorum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=107983 Not sure if any brave souls were willing to test Wireworld CAT 8 plugs @ 20 bucks a pop http://www.soundhelpers.com/PROD/RJ45STE.html https://store.wireworldcable.com/products/rj45-plug-for-starlight-cat8-ethernet https://www.amazon.com/WIREWORLD-Cat-Ethernet-Plug-RJ45/dp/B01M0V6CUE BTW, they're also selling other CAT 8 cables by the foot @ $4.5 / $18 / $180 respectively http://www.soundhelpers.com/PROD/CHEF000.html http://www.soundhelpers.com/PROD/STEF000.html http://www.soundhelpers.com/PROD/PSEF000.html Link to comment
seeteeyou
Dunno what to say but the OP seemed to have abandoned this music server ship http://www.tirnahifi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4541&start=160 Quote Well the SD Card player finally sealed the nail in coffin for PC based audio for me when it comes to getting the best sound. With all my Linear power and gizmos and add ons I could not get near the quality of sound from the SD Card player and particularly using an SLC Card. And so another chapter begins building an SD Player for top of the heap sound at a ridiculously low cost. Put my name in automatically lads for any funding round needed for development costs. http://www.tirnahifi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4541&start=180 Quote If it helps keep this alive John i am willing to stump up 1k of the cost seeing i cannot contribute much by way of software or hardware input. If it does not work and the money does not bear fruit then so be it, i have spent much more over recent years on this hobby with less to show for it compared to the potential i see in this project. Even powering the motherboard with SR7EHD from Paul Hynes plus feeding LT3045 directly to RAM couldn't save the day. Link to comment

If your bench mark is mainstream cables like Canare and Belden, then the Supra tweak is recommended. http://www.furutech.com/2013/01/29/1480/ In the end having a much larger gauge @ 14 AWG turned out to be one of the determinant factors that really mattered https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/30376-a-novel-way-to-massively-improve-the-sq-of-computer-audio-streaming/?page=279&tab=comments#comment-792104 On 3/7/2018 at 10:12 PM, mozes said: I have been building some DC cables for my personal use and I have tried many many conductors with various gauges including copper, silver, and silver plated copper, stranded and solid core. I found that the most important aspect to SQ is gauge, go for the largest gauge you can regardless whether it is solid core or stranded. As for copper vs. silver you really need to try in your system to find the tonality that matches best with your system. https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/31554-diy-dc-power-cables/?page=32&tab=comments#comment-743743 On 11/17/2017 at 1:36 AM, Cornan said: Yes, I use silver wires on my DC- output groundings. Even thin gauge silver sounds better than thick gauge copper. This is something well known by Entreq. https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/audioquest-dc-cables-why-are-there-almost-no-high-end-dc-cables Quote You folks may be over-invested in the star-quad construct. I made several PCs that way from TFT-insulated silver-plated copper wire that were subsequently trounced by thicker, pure silver wire in a simple twisted pair with a foil shield. It's worth a try. seeteeyou
FYI - in addition to PCOCC from Furutech, we could also get 102 SSC (successor of PCOCC-A) from Oyaide https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/oyaide-cables 8.8-mm outer diameter so that's pretty close to the FA-220 @ 9.0-mm https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/chuya-online/item/134625/ https://oyaide.com/catalog/products/tunami-terzo-v2-6517.html https://oyaide.com/catalog/products/tunami-terzo-v2.html Cornan 1 Link to comment

There is a leap in clarity with all the associated benefits and without any detriment to overall sound. Maybe the shielding and material of conductors are crucial. So far there's only one of us who tried Wireworld instead of Supra as well as the CAT 8 Patchkabel 2000Mhz 1 metre from Germany. Did you use passive PoE adapters with your CAT 8 cable or was that terminated with DC power connectors manually? Link to comment
seeteeyou
Did anyone make anything with supra CAT 8 bulk wires that are terminated with 4-pin / 20-pin / 24-pin ATX connectors? Just wondering if that were equally beneficial when compared to be the ones that are terminated with 5.5mm DC power connectors etc. Link to comment
