Josh_from_Cambridge
What's the difference between the Weiss DAC2 and the DAC202? Here are links to each: http://www.weiss-highend.ch/dac202/index.html http://www.weiss.ch/dac2/dac2.htm Thanks, Josh Link to comment
Audio_ELF
From what has been said, actually there is a lot of difference. The DAC202 was (if I understand right) a pretty much complete ground up redesign from the DAC2 / Minerva. There are more differences in the design than similarities. In the obvious parts - the DAC202 has a comprehensive front panel display, remote control and Word Clock In and Out. It also has a redesigned analogue section (probably the most important part of a DAC). Eloise Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
doug2507
Anyone heard these back to back yet or even the 202 along side the Medea? Purite Audio
The 202 is a completely new ground up design, different chip config and output stage, it is better than the dacII, you really need to hear them side by side, for a valid comparison and of course vfm judgements kick in, the Medea will receive a complete overhaul soon.
