I'm pirating ten albums just this morning alone, in sheer defiance of this article.

I mean, look, folks, we're being entirely unreasonable here...If they don't make an attempt to lock everything down again, how else are they going too sell me the same 100 albums over and over for the next fifty years of my life?  How callous of all of you!  For shame!

 

The rationale laid out by these industry cretins cracks me up.  These people talk about their precious recordings as though these albums have  actually been handled with the care and reverence that they've deserved throughout all of these endless re-mastering campaigns.  I'll bet 80% of all of the labels' digitized archives are the most recent, dynamically compromised re-masters .  If they cared so much about preserving their commodity (to be sold at numerous points later on down the road), you'd think they might pay a little more attention to how these artists' recorded legacies are being captured.

 

I say best to steal all of the "crown jewels" now before they're locked up again.
