hdo
Delving deep into electrical theory doesn't answer perceived USB illness. DAC is a specialized computer in its own right. It has processor and digital-analog-converter chips. Processor runs firmware program. Processor receives data into buffer from USB. Then it feeds buffered data into digital-analog-converter chips based on dac chips clock. There can be slight delay here to prevent jitters. So there is no issue with USB jitters! There is no need to use jitterbug-like devices. 5V electrical supply is another issue. It should be handled by DAC power supply circuit. Only poorly designed DACs blame USB. Link to comment

Definitely. If data is not received 100%, computer is no longer reliable. Better to send to a recycling plant. Link to comment
hdo
Obviously there are snake oil sellers. Anyway snake oil won't harm you, other than cost you a fortune. If you have money to spend, buy $5 cable and donate the rest to charities. You won't lose any sound quality. But you become a good man! Link to comment

When used as digital, it's 100% good. That's why you can save data into USB devices without worrying about transmission errors. USB is more than adequate for audio. I don't have any problem sending 32bit 384khz data over USB. There is no problem with USB. It's only poorly developed DACs blame USB. Fitzcaraldo215 1 Link to comment

It is stupid thing to chain toys between dac and computer usb as they are likely to do harm than do good. USB communication requires good timing. Adding toys in between can do negative effects on timely communication. Indeed, it is stupid to chain useless devices. Link to comment
