RayBan
I have a fairly simple system consisting of a last issue Mach2 Music Mac mini feeding a Weiss DAC 202 by Firewire. iTunes library resides on an external HDD using USB. The DAC is connected directly to a Parasound PA, then through Morrow cables to Golden-ear Tritons. As the Mach 2 (headless) is of 2011 vintage I would like to control it through a 2014 MacBook Pro by screen sharing. I am on a building supplied Wi-Fi system and am wondering if this "network" will support this proposed set-up? (Player is Pure Music). Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Audio_ELF
Screen sharing should work on WiFi but it all depends what else is going on on the network at the time. If you have problems, you could try using an Apple Airport as a bridge to the existing WiFi network and wiring your MacMini and MacBook Pro. Eloise --- ...in my opinion / experience... While I agree "Everything may matter" working out what actually affects the sound is a trickier thing. And I agree "Trust your ears" but equally don't allow them to fool you - trust them with a bit of skepticism. keep your mind open... But mind your brain doesn't fall out. Link to comment
