My Brand New Rega DAC-R Remote

I bought a Rega DAC-R today and I'm staring at the remote and the two AAA batteries that allegedly go inside. There's a seam and 9 dots on the back of the remote and I give up. I thought if I pushed down on the dots, the back would slide off or pop off. Nothing is happening. I'm not so interested in snapping it in half. Anyone know the answer?

You need to push on the dots and simultaneously slide downwards.

 

I have the same remote from Rega Brio-R and it is a bit stiff but it does come off.
