duartisimo1979
Hi guys I have some DVDs and blu rays i want store in my computer and before i do that i would like to understand a bit more about native audio resolution on some of my content. Some is in 5.1, others in stereo... when resolution is described by my system, are we talking about RESOLUTION PER CHANNEL? as in 24/96 x 5? Does this transfer equally into music files? or do i have to divide that by 2? Sorry if this is a silly question, i am not very tech savvy but am curious about these things. THANKS Link to comment
Miska
when resolution is described by my system, are we talking about RESOLUTION PER CHANNEL? as in 24/96 x 5? Yes... Except that 5.1 means of course 6 channels. 5.0 is used mostly on SACDs, video discs tend to have the LFE channel. Does this transfer equally into music files? It should... If you downmix 5.1 to stereo, then of course you have just 24/96 x 2 instead of x 6. Signalyst - Developer of HQPlayer Pulse & Fidelity - Software Defined Amplifiers Link to comment
duartisimo1979
OK thank you very much. I think i'll store the audio AS IS, tempering with the original might not be a good idea. Link to comment
