SACD &USB DAC

JRODRIGUEZ74740

Are new USB DAC with DSD capability able to reproduce an SACD from a SACD transport or a SACD player?.

Seems that manufacturer only allow to reproduce the SACD with an external DAC of its own brand.

Who knows something about this?

I have Weiss DAC with DSD and would like to use it with a SACD.

Thanks for any comment

Javier,

SACD players will not provide digital ouput in DSD format via USB. so you cannot play SACDs directly through your DAC. There is a very lengthy thread that covers ripping SACDs using early firmware versions of Sony PS3 units to produce DSD files:

At present, this is the only way that you can play the content of SACDs through your Weiss DSD capable DAC.

Javier, that is why I provided the link. Or you may want to PM ted_b asking for his SACD Ripping Guide. It's all in there.
